We want to thank everyone who took the time to attend and share their thoughts and insights during the Town of Stark board meeting.

While no final decision may have been reached just yet, it is important to emphasize that every opinion shared at the board meeting holds weight.

At last night’s Stark town board meeting, the vote regarding the current New Leaf wind project under consideration was postponed until next month when a final vote is expected. New leaf has not yet addressed public comments submitted by various parties, so FEIS (Final Environmental Impact Statement) is still pending. The Town Board did, however, approve a proposal for a temporary nine month moratorium on any NEW wind and solar projects, to allow the board to study and revise their current laws.

The moratorium adopted on April 9th will apply to all NEW industrial wind and solar projects, but not to the New Leaf Project, because New Leaf has already been submitted. The New Leaf project, therefore, remains pending and could be approved as early as the next Town Board meeting.

A meeting is scheduled for April 30 to allow the public to comment on the proposed moratorium.

As we move forward, we encourage continued participation and involvement from all members of the community. Your input is invaluable in shaping the future of our town and ensuring that decisions are made with the best interests of everyone in mind.

In conclusion, we want to express our gratitude to all who attend board meetings. Your participation matters. Let’s continue to engage in meaningful discussions, and make a difference in the direction we take as a community. Thank you.
